Cutalong
Mineral, VA
Location
Cutalong sits at Tributer on Lake Anna in Mineral, Virginia — roughly an hour from Richmond and about two hours from Washington, D.C. The course anchors the broader Tributer community, with on-site golf villas and cottages and the clubhouse on property.
The course
Cutalong Golf Club is a private, championship-caliber par-72 routed through Lake Anna's shoreline and the area's old mining grounds. The design draws on Golden Age architects — Charles Blair Macdonald, Donald Ross, Alister MacKenzie — with several holes taking direct inspiration from famous templates:
- Hole 4 — Pebble Beach
- Hole 6 — Pinehurst No. 2
- Holes 7 & 14 — St. Andrews
- Hole 9 — Augusta National
- Hole 18 — Shinnecock Hills
Hole 3 is called out as "one of Virginia's best holes." The layout is shaped by Contrary Creek, the lake, real elevation, and exposed rock outcroppings, with historic railroad cuts and mine sites woven into the routing.
From the Black tees the course measures 7,368 yards, with forward sets stepping down to 4,311.
What to expect
Cutalong's pitch — "timeless design for the modern golfer" — is a fair framing of what YGT viewers will see. The template-style holes give the broadcast clean reference points (the Pebble hole, the Augusta hole) and the combination of water, elevation, and mining-era scars makes the course look distinct from anything else on the schedule.
Visiting fans can stay in the on-site villas or cottages and treat the round as the centerpiece of a Lake Anna trip.
